The Basics of Photography







Hi Everyone tomorrow is our scheduled photo shoot for Hogs Back lake. It will be an awesome opportunity to take some fantastic fall pictures. We will be focussing on the basics of photography that we covered in the booklet, only this time you will be shooting your own pictures.






What you Need to Bring


You will need to bring with you:


1. Camera and memory card. (if you don't have a camera bring a memory card, and we'll get you a camera.


2.  Small back pack


3. Rain gear


4. proper hiking shoes or good quality shoes.


5. Lunch


Itinerary


9:00 am  - departure


9:30 - am arrival at Hogsback Lake


9:30 - 11:30 - Hike around Hogsback using the basics of photography criteria.


11:30 - Hike back to Bus


12:00 - Depart from Hogsback


12:30 - Arive at NVSS






Group A will Leave Tomorrow
(with the exception of those that have incomplete projects from assignments 1-4) 
 
- all participants must have completed up to Assignment #4 in order to qualify for this trip .


Assignment:


Take 3 Pictures for each of the following categories:


1. Rules of thirds
2. Informal balance
3. Formal balance
4. Selective focus
5. Leading line (narrow depth of field)
6. Lighting
7. Grouping
8. Horizon Line (wide depth of field)
9. Framing
